my late father used to describe this place as a "hobbit house".  old, funky, charming: yes; but way too tall to suit any halfling.  not that the details were of consequence as what he meant was the overall look-and-feel. 

back Across The Water, though, a closer approximation might be found.  with plenty still to do here I'm hardly in a position to take on another, but look!  from the beeb comes the news that Rock Cottage at Wolverley near Kidderminster, Worcestershire has become available.
