here's another cottage renovation opportunity

[crossposted to [livejournal.com profile] oldhouses]

my late father used to describe this place as a "hobbit house".  old, funky, charming: yes; but way too tall to suit any halfling.  not that the details were of consequence as what he meant was the overall look-and-feel.

back Across The Water, though, a closer approximation might be found.  with plenty still to do here I'm hardly in a position to take on another, but look!  from the beeb comes the news that Rock Cottage at Wolverley near Kidderminster, Worcestershire has become available.

this in from the beeb: the place ended up selling (http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/uk_news/england/hereford/worcs/6271564.stm) for £100,000.  the auctioneer is quoted as saying that it was purchased by a near-neighbour who wants it "to stay exactly how it is".
