[OT from cottage renovations]

a friend-of-a-friend is going to GEB (Guiding Eyes for the Blind) to be trained with her 3rd guide dog.  she has set up a blog to document the process, syndicated to LJ as canineville.

this follows by a few weeks the demise of Gabe, who after many years of faithful service retired from guide dog duties and remained in his household as a beloved companion.
