painting

the painting contractor came around this morning so we could inspect his work and he could cash in his invoice.  at such time as the remaining sections of the S wall are complete he'll come back to do the rest on a time and materials basis.

we're past the equinox and overnight lows are now dipping into the 40s; I'm starting to get a bit concerned about the prospects for getting that wall closed up and those frames turned the rest of the way into storm windows in time for winter.

What's your plan in such a case?

the walls already have insulation, they just need to have some gaps sealed.  if need be I could do that to what's there now.  the windows could always have a temporary internal plastic layer applied.  given how much of a thermal liability the rest of the place can be, there's always the possibility that what is or isn't there on the S wall might not actually make that much of a difference.  I'm hoping not to be in a position to find that out.
