15_the_circle | rerefenestration pending

this morning the Excellent Trim Carpenter delivered five wooden screens in three different sizes and (ta da!) the new old upper front window to replace the old new one (if you haven't been following along, trust me, this makes sense). it's all neatly stacked on the porch, around the corner in case some weather decides to happen~~, though the arrangement isn't well suited to photography~~. from what I have seen of it, though, it looks like he really has outdone himself this time.

he's planning on coming back the day after tomorrow to hang the screens and to start splicing the window assembly into place. the six-over-one that's currently there will be saved for reuse during the next phase of work. this is not without precedent: during the cottage "modernisation" remuddling some thirty years ago a couple of the windows ended up migrating ... over to Lee and Marlene's cottage next door.
