another missed connection, la-di-dah

today the architect called back, which would have been a good thing except that I couldn't take her call because I was working a customer issue that ran over.  by the time I was able to get off that call it was too late for her. 
oh, well, some other time. 

I find that I have come to accept the differential rate at which time flows for any activities associated with the building trades, which is fine but I need to be more careful about letting this seep into other aspects of life.  in the Salt Lake City airport when somebody asked me about his delayed outbound flight I found myself responding "bad karma" before (actually: instead of) formulating a more suitable response.

If this was a friend to whom you replied, I can imagine they might've seen the humor. If it was a complete stranger, they probably backed away...very...slowly.

complete stranger, I'm afraid.  his focus was on his flight and any details about what was happening to it rather than on flakiness of informant.  at least I'm hoping it was.
