our annual Town Meeting was held last night. in it we review what was and wasn't done over the past year, announce election results for Mayor and Town Council, and set our tax rate and budget for the coming year.

to my complete surprise our Historic Preservation Commission honoured the façade work done so far with its annnual Outstanding Renovation Award.

as it happens, after several false starts the Excellent Trim Carpenter is coming Monday to continue the first phase below-threshhold-of-building-permit work. it is entirely fitting that the first thing I will ask him to do will be to attach this plaque to his own work.

around the time of the Refenestration Dedication the work had received some informal recognition as noted in this space on 10 October 2005 but I hadn't expected anything else to come of it.
