incidental portraiture

[OT from cottage renovations]

some incidental portraiture emerged from the backgrounds and details of images taken during the school bus attack a couple of days ago.  as with any found images the quality varies but I thought four out of the ten below turned out reasonably well.  I would be interested in any comments on these images.

I am more accustomed to botanical and railway photography than to working with human subjects.  children who are engaged in some other activity seem to be easiest to photograph.

I'm partial to f02, mostly because I've seen it a thousand times over. And you know what? Only kids would stand like that. Replace them with their older selves, and the abandon of posture wouldn't be endearingly obvious.

I also like f02. The subjects are cute and the lighting is good.

George: you've sent along some wonderful pictures of plants and animals and various stages of your house project, but the last batch of pix of Grove kids is Total Quality. Many photographers take good pictures of people doing interesting things, but once in a while someone comes along who just seems to have a knack for showing some inner quality of the individual subject...and you certainly are one of those few. I'm not related to any of these kids by blood, but your portraits make me wish that were so! thank you, and keep snapping! Ann
