today was not a normal day for bus no. 172.  with the end of the school year approaching, passengers and parents had prepared a surprise for driver Tracy.

a note on the town listserv had alerted me to the event so this morning I made an effort to be there at the right time (while heading to the office sometimes I pass the bus before/during/after it makes this stop but a precise overlap is a random event). 

I don't ride the bus, nor do I put anybody on it, but the kids were kind enough to draw me into their poster -- the figure of me on the 10-speed ahead of the bus in the second pic is one of the very few images of me anywhere on the internet.  the faces shown looking out the windows are passenger self-portraits.

The kids must obviously like you. They don't draw just anybody on bicycles in front of their beloved schoolbus...

...(unless there were original plans for a depicted hit-and-run scene).
