[OT from cottage renovations]

one of Mimi's roses is blooming through the chain link fence.  I went back today and tried both the morning and afternoon light.

I prefer the first one. It's smiling. In the second picture, it reminds me of just having eaten too much and not being inclined to hold conversation due to the ill effects of gluttony.

... on captuting and processing the image I had been paying more attention to the backlighting effect, but noted parenthetically the illusion of a change in aspect ratio.  but you're right, it does have a certain sock-puppet-does-a-bilious-face appearance about it.  will have to wander down there for another look in this morning's light.
