easter in the Grove

[OT from cottage renovations]

spring is rushing though the Grove at a breakneck pace.  over the past 48 hours the upper story canopy has nearly filled out in the West Woods.  here on the Circle it's not quite that far advanced, but the rate of change is still quite impressive.

thise azalea is still a-budding; even its incipient stage provides plenty of contrast and texture.

afternoon light slanting down between the rows, all covered with spring beauties -- how very inviting a prospect it presents to any who pass by.

I'm wondering if all these delights are found in your backyard. If so, you live in a modern incarnation of the Garden of Eden.

some are in, all are near.  all image posts with the grovescape (http://www.livejournal.com/~15_the_circle/tag/grovescape) tag are taken in the Grove itself (except for the ones of the field, which abuts the Town).  anything labeled "Bittsweet Cottage garden" is in the yard; "the Circle" is, of course, adjacent; and the rest are quite nearby -- the Grove is not a large place.

the place names are familiar to any Grove resident -- there are a few Grovers and expatriates who occasionally read this journal.

well, I certainly think so, and have become sufficiently averse to leaving it that I pretty much measure the quality of a weekend by the negative test of whether I am required at any point to set foot outside the Grove.

Beautifully expressed.

I am another grove resident. the Bittersweet Cottage resident often shows me through these pages what I pass all the time but never notice....

That's why I love photography - not only looking through the lens of a camera, but being given the opportunity to see how the world fits into the eyes of others, as well.

(I think that anon.  comment was from Bamboo Walker, right?)
the first time she did that was with this image (http://pics.livejournal.com/15_the_circle/pic/0009hydd), in which she saw that which I hadn't known was there.

She should NEVER post anonymously. The name 'Bamboo Walker' is far too much fun.

To tell the truth, I don't really understand how I am posting or how the identities work! But thanks for the compliment on my name (which actually had a reason behind it!), and to my bittersweet friend who reminded me of the photo I had long forgotten. bamboo walker

Well, now I'm curious. Why are you called 'Bamboo'?
