[OT from cottage renovations]

across the span of the hours between sunrise and sunset -- generous in number this time of year -- the light is always changing from one moment to the next.  though each of its manifestations has its own qualities, the way it comes down while late afternoon turns into early evening is the most inviting of enticements to head out for a walk and sometimes also to capture the occasional image for this space.

Chapel Park

bluets are a species of wildflower whose dainty charm completely fits its tiny size.  a patch of them can be found along the Chapel Park swale and this week they are at their subminiature best. 

the ones in the stand below are trapping so much light they are looking more like glassblown replicas of themselves.

somewhere along the way this space does rather seem to have degenerated into a photo journal.  these things happen. 

the renovation is far from complete and is never out of my thoughts though at present it's taking a budgetary back seat to the Wonder Boy's undergraduate education.  until circumstances improve it does seem more prudent to sequence such expenses by priority than to attempt to cover them all at once.  he's only got the one year to go; things should pick up around here before then.
