the onset of a a couple of warm days in a row was what it took to get the hydrangeas to start leafing out, which of course they endavoured to do all at once.

Bittersweet Cottage garden

the leaves first emerge from the bud as a tightly crinkled texturefest.

Lovely shots. I've never looked at the texture of new hydrangea leaves so minutely before!
