the ability to syndicate external content into one's flist is a nifty LJ feature.  here are a few of recent interest, most of which don't make the LJ top 1,000 syndicated feeds page:

• japonisme_rss: early Japanese influence on the arts of the West
• maproom: for the mapoholic
• paleofuture: the history of the future
• photoshpdiaster (not a misspelling, rather a procrustean way of accommodating LJ's username length limit): photoshop disasters -- it can be amazing what makes it into print. 
• bsc_grovescape and bsc_elsewhere: recent additions to imagekind gallery of images from within and beyond the Grove, respectively.  somewhat erratic in tracking actual update activity.
