Sunday: Meg

[OT from cottage renovations]

complaints have been coming in that there haven't been enough cute kitten pictures in this space lately, and we know who that means: Meg.

the Circle

of course she gives no more thought to cooperating as a photographic subject than to any other fool notion put forth by her human -- meaning sub-feline -- staff.

now and then, however, an opportunity comes along and when it does there's no point in hesitating.  *click*

what a sweet face she has.

it's difficult to capture cat's expressions and I'm sure there are many out there who swear cats have no expression, but we know better.

it certainly is, and Meg can be more difficult than most.  some of that is a natural consequence of her markings and the difficulty of catching them in good light but the, shall we say, personality component makes a substantial contribution.

Speaking of photos and web cams...

George - here is the link to a web cam that I think you and certain other Grove residents would be most interested in. It is: http://www.icealaska.com/08/08jr/Cam8jr01.html. While Grove web cams are interesting at times, it’ll be hard to beat this one over the next few days. Enjoy -- Margo

thanks for sharing the link.
it's a little hard to make out what's going on: it seem to show a dark place with a small clearing among many trees and a sign whose writing isn't legible, at least not in ambient light at 02:49 local time.  perhaps there will be more detail after sunup.

[edit: I've taken the liberty of adding it to the cottage porch webcams page (http://www.pacerfarm.org/cam.htm) as a special guest camera]

Yes, as you surmised, it'll look much better in daylight, which should start around 7:00 to 7:30 a.m. our time (11:00 - 11:30 EDT). After dark it is lighted until around 10:30 p.m. our time (2:00 a.m. EDT), which gives it a whole different and very beautiful look. It starts getting dark up here around 8:00 p.m. local (midnight for you), so the lighting would become evident around that time. I checked out the addition of the cam to your web site, and that is *very* cool! Thanks! -- Margo

She's certainly turned out to be a lovely girl, and she wears her "Tortietude" nicely.
