the cat cam is a webcam that looks across the porch into the Circle.  when motion is detected the resulting image is uploaded to a web page where it sits until replaced by the next one to come along.  it is one of several in the Grove but for the most part the images aren't remarkable and the pages are seldom visited. 

the camera is set at cat level so for the most part it records the comings and goings of cats and squirrels.  Peaches and Chessie died last year and Peake and the neighbour cats haven't made up for the reduction in feline activity so squirrel sightings have become more common. 

normally I don't get the chance to glance at it from the office more than a couple of times a day.  on doing so at noon here's the image the camera had captured:

The cats are interesting but we enjoy the squirrels more. They are much more animated and act like they are getting away with something by venturing so close to the house.
