[OT from cottage renovations]
no matter how much time I do -- or don't -- devote to trying to see this place, there are always things that get past me and I never fail to learn from what is seen through the eyes of others.

Woodward Park
it was Christopher and Nicky, visiting the Grove in late July of last year, who discovered the complete excellence of this oak, its low hanging branches perfect in height and form for perching.
it was from their grandmother that I learned the tree was one of three that have come down in the past couple of weeks.
