Saturday: bloomage

[OT from cottage renovations]

for a couple weeks the days have drawn me away from the Grove and I have been obliged to lay down camera and take up other pursuits.  Saturday provided the start of a three day weekend, a welcome chance to take it all in again at least for a while.

for some reason our hibiscus flowers seem to be more horizontally than vertically oriented.  that aspect, and the morning light, were sure to catch my attention.

I really like the two hibiscus flowers photos.

they are (as I hadn't made clear in the caption) of the same blossom viewed from different angles.  it was for some reason strikingly different from any other, as if I was seeing it for the first time.

Your photos are often like that.
They are intimate. I feel like I am stopping to look at something I might have hurriedly passed by without a thought. So thanks.

Hope your other work doesn't take you away from shooting and posting too much.

I particularly like the first hibiscus shot. Texture on pistil is wonderful. Morning glory are harder to get a good photo of than one would think. Our trellis is loaded every morning right now and Ernie and I keep shooting, but it just doesn't convey what they actually look like in person.
