[OT from cottage renovations]

this little thistle sits beside the walkway at the edge of Howard Park.  one head is drooping, another is missing and from one snapped stalk hang dried and blackened leaves.  it has been through hard times and is nearing the end of its days; nonetheless it is carrying on. 

when my own time comes will I do as well?
