in this case, the same mimosa that's been burning a hole in the camera's CCD sensor.  but this afternoon's sky cranked down the blue to that palest of shades you see below, backlighting these fronds and the next thing I knew I had just taken yet another image.  sorry 'bout that ...

Sweet. I love their leaves. And I was right. They have mimosas here in Cal. I saw one in V Jo this past week It was in bloom so I could ID it successfully.
They must grow in alot of differing climates. From what I see of your photos you get snow in the winter, we don't.
