because the water company has the Circle all dug up between 3rd and 4th Avenues this year's 4th of July parade had to detour along the arc between 1st and 2nd Avenues. the diversion kept it away from the porch thereby precluding any opportunities to take the customary images of the Mayor on the Town Tractor, the Muskrat Band, the Kazoo Band, grovers in costume and little ones on decorated trikes coming 'round the Circle.
