tried a 2^nd reshoot of a botanical subject here in the Grove only to discover that the 3^rd time was not the charm.  maybe some other time.  or not: it doesn't always happen that hardware, software and process can combine to capture an image that correlates well to the one in the mind's eye. 

passed these on the way and they made for a closer match: dark, diffuse, and slightly blue.

Lake gate duty

[OT from cottage renovations]

this week I've taken a turn on Lake gate duty, which basically entails walking down at dusk to make sure things are in good shape and locking the outer gate for the night.  this week has been unusual in that there haven't even once been any encounters with anybody else down there, not even trespassers.  before passing the key along to next week's volunteer I took advantage of this evening's quiet to capture these reflection images.
