McCathran Hall
I've never quite understood how or why it is that the children's recital is Music Weekend's only sparsely attended event. for me it's the highlight, and my appreciation for it deepens over the years. it is such a pleasure to see the way in which their musical interests and abilities develop over time. I wouldn't miss it, not for anything.
if you weren't there, here's what you missed.
an accidental omission from this year's event (it made the printed program but got overtaken by the rush of events) was the traditional closing rounds, sung by the audience under the direction of the children.
I'm sure they'll be back come next year:
All things shall perish from under the sky.
Music alone shall live, music alone shall live,
Music alone shall live, never to die.
