refenestration from ground level

these images are from yesterday, but I didn't get around to pulling them out of the camera until this morning. 

some friends in the Grove recently replaced the windows in their home.  the result, as expected, was more attractive and energy efficient.  what I hadn't anticipated was how the new ones in the basement would change the view looking out at ground level.  though I had seen it any number of times over the past few years, with refenestration it was as if for the first time.

the Grove is not a large place but the depth and variety of its visual appeal seem to be without limit.  it seems there's always something different, whether in a spot that's new or one already known to me.  it's always worthwhile to go back: light and season are always changing.

Hickory Road

across the way behind the Post Office stands a fence made up of wooden palings in some sections and iron frame and mesh in others.  it also serves as a trellis for vines that are interesting whether in or out of bloom.

a bit up the road, somewhere along the way as it dried this hydrangea started to look less like a flower and more like a pollinator. 
 

lepodoptiform dried hydrangea
