new hope for garden procrastinators

Kew Gardens researchers have managed to germinate seeds captured at sea during the Napoleonic wars 200⁺ years ago.

the painting contractor came around this morning so we could inspect his work and he could cash in his invoice.  at such time as the remaining sections of the S wall are complete he'll come back to do the rest on a time and materials basis. 

we're past the equinox and overnight lows are now dipping into the 40s; I'm starting to get a bit concerned about the prospects for getting that wall closed up and those frames turned the rest of the way into storm windows in time for winter.
