Friday started and ended with rain but the painters were on the job site between.  they finished the window sashes and got a first finish coat on everything.  when I got home I decided to try to grab what light there was for this quick picture.

if you click through the above image you'll see how the S wall painting has gotten rather ahead of the carpentry.  also of note is the colour shift between the lower and upper façade: even with a primer coat in place that old wood up there is quite thirsty.  although there's still lots to do, all in all things really are converging nicely. 

the rerefenestration rededication will be in two weeks. 

more dance instruction

[OT from cottage renovations]

last night there were two events going on within a couple hundred feet: the Woman's Club pot luck dinner featuring a talk by the Washington Post's Marc Fischer, and the second evening of ballroom dance instruction for kids in the Town Hall.  not wanting to completely miss either activity I wandered back and forth between the two, dodging the falling raindrops. 

as compared to last week's classes, there was considerably less structure but absolutely no diminution in the extent to which participants had one heck of a good time [many hecks of quite a few good times, come to think of it].
