[OT from cottage renovations]
valentine's day came and went months ago. though as usual I did not participate, our trees have produced their own delayed observance as seen this morning.
- in the Circle the redbuds have put forth their customary heart shaped leaves, seen here in nontraditional (for the event, not the tree) green with edges delineated by backlit morning sunlight.
- at the edge of Howard Park on the grounds of the Town Hall stands a grove whose trees are planted in memory (or honour, for the living) of those who have made a mark upon the Town. this fine American Redbud honours Carol Uhlendorf. when viewed downlight its leaves are more of a russet or magenta but from the other side they take on a red hue that complements the shape quite nicely.
