surveyors, pt. 7 (range war averted)

the surveyors came out in the morning to establish the line by agreement between the two cottages (nos. 15 and 13).  Allan had suggested the we settle matter by range war, precedent for which can be found in any number of western movies.  ever the gentleman, knowing that I don't hold with keeping weapons about the place he even offered the loan of them from his arsenal. 

cooler heads prevailed, though: he was able to accommodate my preference for nonviolent methods of conflict resolution.  after the surveyors drove some rebar markers into the ground and tied the new data points into their diagrams we both signed the fieldbooks peacefully. 

now that the S side border has been established it will take them a while to complete the task, perhaps a week or two.
