closings to go

my mortage lender offered to refinance.  interest rate comes down, which is good.  monthly payment also comes down, which is also good.  term of the loan goes back up to 10 years (they don't want to go with anything shorter than that).  I'm not quite as thrilled about that aspect, but the delta t is only a couple of months. 

back when I first bought the cottage a traditional closing ceremony was conducted in a law office in Rockville.  when I refinanced a few years ago the occasion was a bit less formal and was hosted at a title company in Howard County.  this time around they are sending closing documents by Federal Express and will dispatch a notary who will come out to the office next week to make it all happen.  they said to expect it to take about 20 minutes.
