painting crew has begun the surface prep work.  this entails a great deal of scraping.

the painting crew spent the day scraping and sanding, and applied the first primer to the porch ceiling.

over the past few days kittens have been turning up in the Grove.  all seemed to have been looked after and acclimated to people.  but on being found they are lonely, and incredibly hungry. 

this li'l one showed up near the Circle and, mewing piteously, attached herself to Anna and Dennis, who were out for a walk.  I broke out a small can of stinky cat food and she went through it in seconds flat.  it's astonishing how much appetite something that small can have -- she probably hadn't eaten in a few days.  they took her home for the time being.

it's starting to look like somebody dumped a litter in the Grove.
