doors and windows in place

the W wall is starting to show its final configuration.  I'll have to admit that there's less actual progress than this image might suggest -- the doors are on their hinges but not completely hung and don't yet have locks, bolts or weatherstripping.  and the windows are merely tacked in place for overnight and lack the necessary hardware. 

but it's a great improvement to make it through the night without the plywood slabs, and this arrangement does allow door service to be provided for the cats. 

even though the new doors and windows have less glass area than the sliding door they replaced, the effect as seen from within is an increase in air, space and light available to the room.
