actually duccio and djaza (I see they're not on you flist, you should check out their journals) have been posting some Northern California landscapes that put these images to shame.
wonderfully evocative of the best of the California plein air movement and nearly enough to make me want to go back.
well, not really, but enough to light off a bout of homesickness for that part of the world.
I'm afraid it would take more than that to yank me out of the Grove.

these were taken at ground level; as seen from up on that porch it can be breathtaking but thanks to utility poles and wires it's not really possible to get a decent photograph.

the hedgerow starts just a bit to the NE of these images and runs along Ridge Road.
