Maple Lake
what a paradox it is that when it rains, it's considered too wet to go swimming.
perimeter fence

and I'm on Lake Gate for two weeks in August and a shared one in July. normally I enjoy the walk down there at the end of the day to close up the gate and again in the morning to open it, but over the years the task has taken on the additional aspect of asking trespassers to depart (the same ones, every day) it is becoming a bit of a chore.
*sigh* it's going to be a long summer.

off-hours lake security is one of those persistent problems that's been getting worse over the years. I'm not even on the Lake Committee but have always volunteered to take a turn at gate-minding. the daily evening ritual of asking trespassers to leave (surely they're back in there within minutes after I've left, just as they cut through the perimeter fence faster than we can repair it) is bad enough, but what's always on my mind is what would happen should I find one of them floating while opening up in the morning. it hasn't happened yet, and I hope it never will, but the dread of the prospect of it is always there.

hey, how about some suitable day this summer you bring The Little Guy up for some legitimate lake time? we're even transit accessible. any plastic beach shovel or bucket he might happen to bring along could be put to excellent use.
