[OT from cottage renovations]

though not as late as last year today I finally got around to the annual porch ritual of mop - scrub - rinse - repeat. 

the cause proximate was that hrh_groveland is expected to drop by this afternoon but it way needed to happen anyway and with house guests all off to the spy museum downtown the opportunity was irresistible.  the porch is the most important room  in  of the cottage so giving its floor a good scrub is always lifting to the spirits.

how odd it is that the vernacular expression to be hosed has such a strong negative connotation.  in this case the place is the better for it.
