these stalks are showing different stages of the transformation from bud into bloom.

it's a transplant from South Africa but seems to have settled in all over the place out here.

My Agapanthus haven't started to bloom yet....I'm a little surprised as we have had unusually warm weather. Maybe it's because we haven't had much rain.

that might be part of it, but aren't Santa Barbara and Carpintera some distance to the South of you?  perhaps that's why they're ahead of you.

Lovely series. The subtle colours on those new buds are almost more beautiful than the fully opened flowers.
