[OT from cottage renovations]

another long day with a lot getting done.  at the County  dump  Transfer Station they have once again come to peg us as same-day repeat customers.  between runs as we stopped by the Italian Grocery to pick up sandwiches for lunch I found these trees out in front were coming off their peak.  they were captivating but no, I can't identify them.

hi there, thanks for stopping by and for your note. 
the form of the blossom does resemble hibiscus, but the rest of it seems pretty different.  but what do I know, I'm just your botanical ignoramus of a brother. 

you don't have to come all the way out here to Santa Barbara for hibiscus, we do have some in the Circle.  you can examine them this weekend when you bring the Time Travelers to the Grove -- I'm looking forward to seeing y'all then.
