Our Main Street

Grove Avenue

over the course of the morning the overnight light rain gradually petered out, turning into a lingering mist.

Our Main Street

even by Grove standards traffic was light; a single pedestrian had turned off the walkway a few seconds before this image was taken.

Is one of those trees blooming? It looks like there's a touch of white glitter in the branches.

This is such an affecting photo, George. Not sure what it is--eeriness, gravity, quiet?--but it makes me want to weep. margi

thank you for your comment and for your kind words.

at the time I took it I was quite struck by the gravity and quiet.  eeriness I'm not sure about, but then it can be had to tell what effect an image will have on a viewer.

it's one I am considering for placement in the Town Hall show during the Mousetrap concert on the 22nd as part of a study to include one or two more of the same view; the others taken at different times of year and under different lighting.
