[OT from cottage renovations]

yesterday wasn't much of a day for images.  no breaks in the overcast, nor in the day's constant push to get things done.  so here's a consolation prize: an image from Sunday that I hadn't uploaded.

Mission Santa Barbara

this segment of abandoned aqueduct remains, probably for the simple reason that it was built atop a wall for which a need continued.

one generally thinks of little caves in masonry as providing a habitat for small critters.  it seemed as if this plant was having to put forth some effort in order to overcome shyness and come out to play.

much has needed to be done, and we have gotten an excellent start on it.  the brief moments of wandering around with camera have been a small but valued part of each day.

best of all is that tomorrow I will be going home -- looking at the porch webcam (http://www.pacerfarm.org/gsn.htm) it appears that a single daffodil is now in bloom.  I am anxious to see whether it is, and even more so to see the kitties.

It does rather look like the plant's venturing outside with some trepidation. Those two little flowers look like they're hiding their faces!

it's comforting to know I wasn't alone in seeing it that way.  I'll be out there again some time over the next few months and will make a point of checking back in with it to see what will have happened.
