albedo
[OT from cottage renovations]
[crossposted a couple of weeks later to fourelements]
when the top layer of snow starts to melt and then freezes over again the resulting ice crust can become even more reflective than the snowpack. under overcast conditions it produces a light that's brighter from below than above in an odd combination of softness and unexpected intensity. the overhead component of this afternoon's light was so weak I ended up having to fiddle with the image with PS in order to get these images to come out right.

the Circle
burr
the light accentuated the starkness of these geometrical forms.
I don't know this plant by name but it would appear that the introductions have already been made elsewhere within the household, as I'm forever combing these burrs off the cats Peake.
Brown Street
encircling
this vine, wrapping itself around branch and leaf, gives the appearance of having been captured under studio light rather than ambient.
