[OT from cottage renovations]
this time of year it isn't usually like this around here:
an excellent day for airing the place out (which I am already doing despite ambient humidity and combustion products floating in on the breeze)
and also, it turns out, for torturing Meg by keeping her inside against her will.
and for one day at least it's warmer in the Grove than in southern California:

there's all manner of ahead-of-its-time stuff coming out; in a few moments I'll be walking to the Post Office with camera in hand.
today's weather finally provided the occasion to use that orange crate label icon; I had uploaded it ages ago but nothing had called for it.

An airing out
(Anonymous) 2007-01-08 05:02 am (UTC)(link)I attempted airing out the place but from the moment my wife awoke it was requested of me to please close those open windows. I daresay that I was not just saddened by it but also a touch angry! She has an excuse, of course--she has been ill and had a touch of fever.
Even protests that we are getting ill because the windows have been closed and we shut-ins did not garner any favor.
re: An airing out
how very unfortunate. I do hope the both of you are feeling better soon.
fresh air would help(on second thought, under the circumstances that might not be the most politic advice one might offer).I am such a demon for fresh air, over the course of the winter whenever the temperatures get even remotely within range I will shut down the heating plant and open windows at least for a little while. and of course I postpone as long as possible that closing up in the fall, and open up in the spring as soon as may be. no chance for domestic discord on the issue as the cats don't get any say in the matter (and their preferences are for open windows anyway).
