blue porch ceiling ahead of its time

as the caulking, scraping, sanding and priming proceeded at the lower elevations, up on the porch ceiling the first finish coat appeared.  this was an unexpected development -- things had run over a bit at the office and I was fortunate to make it home in time for the last of the daylight.  with the autumnal equinox two weeks off the days are getting noticeably shorter.
