in his shop the Excellent Trim Carpenter has been working to fabricate the upper front trim piece as defined by the paint shadow revealed by the deshinglement of that surface.  he brought it by this morning for a two-part sanity check: on its own; and resting atop the window pediment above which it will be affixed, for comparison against the paint shadow.
