[OT from cottage renovations]

today's weather was perfect for puttering about outside.  having gotten the committee-of-public-vigilance guerrilla tree maintenance into a moderately reasonable state yesterday, today I was able to get back to the Circle where the backlog consisted mostly of honeysuckle and poison ivy with a garnish of a few other invasives.  our P.I. exhibits a truly astonishing subspecies biodiversity; I must have run across at least nine varieties of it over the past week or so. 

so a few of the trees are looking a little better and the Circle is not as bad as it had been.  but now the cottage garden needs some attention, which I will try to give it over the next couple of days.
