fringe trees come to the Circle

before Monday evening's storm passed through the Grove, seven fringe trees (Chionanthus virginicus) were planted in the Circle.  they are still quite small and are marked by pairs of white stakes for protection against accidental tromping or mowing.  these specimens were cultivated from seed by Charles Horan.

stop by and take a look.  it might be a while before we have a flourishing grove of them:  these ones are already several years old.  it gives us something to look forward to.
