the Grove isn't far enough inland to be out of range for waterfowl.  Maple Lake has a dock but it lacks the pier pilings so favoured for perching by gulls and pelicans.

Woodward Park

a suitable equivalent was found on the edge of Woodward Park by a rare (previously unknown to ornithological science) species of Pelecanus, seen this afternoon.
