indecision

[OT from cottage renovations]

most of the leaves are down now, so I really should be raking them rather than burning more digichrome on them.  but behind Alice's house there is a Japanese Maple whose leaves, not yet fallen, catch the afternoon sunlight in a way that I can't overlook.

taking advantage of the rare treat of an hour at home during weekday afternoon sun I went out to try to catch the essence of the moment.

here are three candidates for non-deletion.  each does something different but I haven't been able to decide whether any are keepers.

Japanese Maple 6
Japanese Maple (no. 6)

Japanese Maple 7

Japanese Maple 8

Number 8 is definitely the magical one. It has a depth the other two don't have and the light outlines the margins of some of the leaves. The photo really captures your eye and pulls you into the picture.

I might be too late, but I love the first one the best.
Your journal is beautiful...may I add it to my reading list?
