[OT from cottage renovations]
a couple of days ago a friend asked for some help in picking out a USB thumb drive. a few keystrokes later we were going through the web site of one vendor who offered 43 different models from which to choose. they come in standard capacities of 1, 2, 4, 8, 16 and 32 Gb but pricing seemed to be all over the place, overlapping among the larger and smaller units.
unit pricing has been standard in grocery stores for years.
other retail sectors expect their customers to work it out for themselves.
