it is interesting to learn that an Anna's Hummingbird chirp is produced by tail feathers (BBC) and fascinating to see an 80-frame overlay of one diving:

for today's commute I am exercising modal preference by returning to two wheels and ten speeds, though fully expecting to pay for it this evening.  in full, no doubt, but after six weeks it's way overdue.
