[OT from cottage renovations]

yes, I'm back from travel, but you wouldn't know it from looking at anything in this space. 

it turns out that three air segments over the course of four days is not a good combination with the start of a head cold.  some time Friday night -> Saturday morning this culminated in an attack of vertigo which though neither severe nor sustained was enough to wake me up and get my attention.  nonetheless it has made sense to lie low for the weekend though at the expense of timely uploading of images from the last few days on the road.  they will follow in due course.
