[OT from cottage renovations]

yesterday's post of the different colours offered by one of the hydrangeas in front omitted the blue that is actually most characteristic of that particular plant.  I was going to edit it into the post but, well, it doesn't do that badly on its own so here it is.

the one plant gets a bit more sun than the ones next to it (and is a bit less deer-ravaged too) so it usually comes into bloom a bit sooner than the others.  there are also some white hydrangeas on the N side of the cottage; those ones are a bit further behind the curve than the others but it won't take them too long to catch up.  when they do I'll try to make a point of mentioning it in this space.

[OT from cottage renovations]

yesterday (Tuesday) morning I woke up from a really horrible dream.  it was all so vivid.

I had to move the Rockville office, again, into smaller quarters, again, on short notice and without budget, again, and with nowhere to put all the stuff that couldn't physically fit into the new digs, again.  the designated premises were tiny and would barely fit desks for the half dozen or so folks to be assigned there, let alone have adequate provisions for the server room, file room, etc. and of course there wasn't enough lead time to get in a change order for moving voice and data lines over.

then I woke and realised: "it doesn't matter.  it couldn't possibly happen.
we already let everybody go and closed the office.  months ago".
at which point I actually found myself laughing.

it is one of the (few) advantages of living so alone that I didn't have to explain it to anybody.
